Time for Some Maintenence✨

Time for Some Maintenence✨

Ladies, winter is coming...❄️

That means you're going to be doing lash extensions with new environmental issues. The temperature is going to DROP.🥶

That means the air can't hold as much water, as it could a month ago.

🍂 As we gradually approach the new season, you might have to adjust your lash room a bit more frequently than normal to get the right temperature and humidity. Might have to dust off the heater, and the diffuser/humidifier.

*Depending on where you live, you might need to crank up the dehumidifier as well.*

This is already known to most experienced artists who have been lashing for more than a few seasonal changes.

However, this message is for the freshly trained. Also for those that've done past retention courses as a little reminder.✨

It's time to calibrate your hygrometer. (If you haven't done it recently)

For those who don't want to go all the way back to the course, here are the steps to make sure you're reading the correct humidity on whatever hygrometer you've got.

✨Here are the things you’ll need✨

- Air-tight plastic bag or container🫙
- Small bottle cap or container.
- Table salt
- Water
24 hours

✨Steps✨

- Fill the cap with salt
- Wet the salt with water. Don’t add too much where the salt dissolves. Just enough so it’s wet.
- Put the cap with the salt in it, inside the plastic bag.
- Put the hygrometer in the plastic bag and seal it.

- Put the bag somewhere that is not in direct sunlight, and is at normal room temperature.
Wait 24 hours.

✨This process gets the machine to read the correct humidity, and also lets you know by how much the machine is inaccurate.

At the end of the 24 hours, the hygrometer should read 75%. If it reads something different, then you know that the machine is off by that much. As an example, let’s say it reads 70%. When you use it, you know you need to add 5% to whatever the machine displays. 🌡️

Hope that reminder is helpful. 💕
